To begin with please make sure you have the latest version of the software. You can check the version number by clicking on the Help/About menu of the software and comparing it to the version history list below. If you have the full version of the software and have not received an upgrade, and you are entitled to one, please contact support@app-dev-enterprise.com with a subject of "Upgrade (Software)" where (Software) is the name of the upgrade needed. Be sure to include your email address.

If the problem you are experiencing is not listed in the version history or on this troubleshooting page the please submit a Bug Report.

Trouble Shooting List

Problem: Can communicate with the unit in DOS but the Windows software cannot.

Problem: Unit not responding.

Problem: Cannot print reports or charts.

Problem: Button glyphs or other graphics are not displaying properly.

Problem: Can communicate with the unit in DOS but the Windows software cannot.

This problem has always been due to a bad cable. Try changing the cable and click the Recorder/Verify menu item. If the unit still doesn't communicate then click Here for step by step instructions to help determine the problem.

Problem: Unit not responding.

bulletIs the unit powered on?
bulletPress the Status button and make sure the display illuminates.
bulletIs the battery fully charged?
bulletCharge the battery for at least 24 hours.

Does the unit need to be reset?
bullet

Press the status button several times, the display should change showing different information, if it doesn't then the unit must be reset. Click Here for step by step instructions on how to reset the unit.

Problem: Cannot print reports or charts.

bulletIs the software version the latest available?
bulletClick the Help/About menu of the software for your current version.
bulletIs the printer driver the latest version?
bulletCheck with your printer's manufacturer for the latest drivers.
bulletIs the printer turned on and online?
bulletMake sure the printer is plugged in and turned on and that all cables are properly connected.
bulletIs the printer in use by another application?
bulletMake sure the printer is not currently being used by another application and that any other applications haven't "locked up".
bulletIs it a network printer?
bulletMake sure the network is available and that the printer isn't in use by another computer.
bulletTry shutting down your computer and rebooting.

Problem: Button glyphs or other graphics are not displaying properly.

bulletDo you have the latest version of comctl32.dll installed?
bulletHave your system administrator search for the file comctl32.dll on your system. Make sure it exists and that it is the latest version. Get the latest version from: http://www.microsoft.com/msdownload/ieplatform/ie/comctrlx86.asp
